The event included a tax assistance clinic at the Senior Adult Activities Center of Montgomery County, where residents received help applying for rebates and filing taxes, including eligibility for newer programs.

Key Tax Relief Programs Explained

Several state programs are driving the reported savings.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program provides direct payments to eligible homeowners and renters, primarily seniors and people with disabilities, to offset housing costs.

The Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit, modeled after the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, offers additional relief to lower- and moderate-income workers.

Together, these programs are expected to deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in savings, with nearly 1 million residents eligible for the newer credit alone.

Additional Savings Measures

Officials also pointed to expanded tax benefits, including a larger Child and Dependent Care Enhancement Tax Credit and a new deduction allowing taxpayers to write off up to $2,500 in student loan interest on state returns.

Business-focused measures include tax credits for employer-supported child care and continued reductions in the Corporate Net Income Tax rate.

Outreach and Access Efforts

State officials said the tour will continue across Pennsylvania to connect residents with available programs and assist with applications.

Online tools are also available to help residents determine eligibility for key tax credits, including calculators for the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit and application resources for the rebate program.
