WEST CHESTER, PA — With the arrival of autumn, the Chester County Health Department is urging residents to safeguard themselves against seasonal illnesses by getting vaccinated for both flu and COVID-19. To facilitate this, the department has organized a series of community clinics across the county, ensuring easy access to these essential vaccines.

Appointments are necessary and can be scheduled online at chesco.org/fallvaccines or by calling 610-344-6225. The 2024 vaccination schedule includes:

  • September 26: Great Valley Middle School, Malvern, 3:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • September 30: Coatesville Area Public Library, Coatesville, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • October 10: Kennett Middle School, Landenberg, 3:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • October 17: Unionville High School, Kennett Square, 3:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • October 19: Avon Grove Church of the Nazarene, West Grove, 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
  • October 24: Owen J Roberts Middle School, Pottstown, 3:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • October 28: Fugett Middle School, West Chester, 3:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • September 17 – December 20: Government Services Center – Health Department, West Chester, varying times and days.

Director Jeanne Franklin emphasizes the department’s commitment to accessibility, stating, “Our community clinics offer a convenient way to get vaccinated early in the season.” Importantly, there are no copays for insured individuals, and the uninsured will face no out-of-pocket costs.

In addition to the clinics, Franklin highlights the role of preventive practices like hand washing and staying home when sick in protecting community health. Residents unable to attend a clinic are advised to visit their healthcare provider or local pharmacy for vaccination.
