WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Health Department reported multiple food safety violations at two facilities following inspections conducted on April 10, 2026, while several other establishments were found to be in compliance.
At Bevan’s Cold Cuts in West Chester, inspectors cited improper food storage practices, including chemicals stored above beverages, in-use knives stored in unsanitary locations, and food held in opened metal cans. The facility also had refrigeration issues, with one unit measuring 60°F, above the required 41°F or below, and lacked proper date marking for ready-to-eat foods.
At Lukoil West Chester #69730, inspectors reported a non-functioning walk-in cooler, lack of sanitizer use for dishwashing, and the use of an unapproved cleaning product on food-contact surfaces. Additional violations included insufficient water pressure at the three-bay sink, missing paper towels and toilet tissue, and cleaning and maintenance deficiencies throughout the facility.
The health department noted that inspections reflect conditions observed at the time and may not represent long-term compliance.
