WEST CHESTER, PA — Community activist Carrie Stare announced her candidacy for the 160th Legislative District seat representing Chester and Delaware counties on Monday. Stare, a Democrat, aims to bring a proactive and effective leadership approach to address the challenges and opportunities facing local communities.

Stare’s campaign is centered on creating a stronger, more equitable economy in Pennsylvania, bolstering public schools, defending access to affordable healthcare, including women’s reproductive rights, protecting the environment, and ensuring no one in the community is left behind.

“I believe in fostering collaboration among community members, local businesses, local non-profits, and government entities to develop effective and inclusive solutions,” Stare stated. “As State Representative, I will work tirelessly to bring people together for the common good.”

Stare has a decade-long record of community engagement, having served as President of the LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County, Commissioner for Westtown Township Parks and Recreation, and member of the Westtown, Thornbury, Birmingham Democratic Committee. Her extensive community involvement, coupled with her educational background and experience in the telecommunications industry, equips her with the necessary skills to navigate policy-making complexities and address diverse community issues.

State Representative Chris Pielli, who currently represents Pennsylvania’s 156th District, has publicly endorsed Stare’s candidacy for the 160th District seat.

Stare, a resident of Westtown Township, lives with her partner Danielle and cat Eleanor. She holds a BA in Political Science from Millersville University and a Masters in Public Administration from West Chester University.
