Vanguard Integrates Investor Choice Program With Amazon Alexa

VALLEY FORGE, PA — The Vanguard Group said it has integrated its Investor Choice proxy voting program with Amazon’s Alexa platform, allowing users to access enrollment tools through voice commands as part of efforts to increase participation.

Investors can say “Alexa, take me to Vanguard Investor Choice” to receive an overview of the program and a link to enroll.

The program, launched in 2023, allows individual investors to direct how shares held in certain index funds are voted on corporate governance matters. It is available to about 22 million investors representing $3.61 trillion in eligible equity index fund assets.

Vanguard plans to expand eligibility to all U.S. equity index funds by the end of 2027, covering an estimated $6.4 trillion in assets.

The Alexa experience provides an interactive walkthrough on devices with screens and a voice-guided version on audio-only devices, with the option to receive an enrollment link via text message.

“Vanguard Investor Choice is grounded in the belief that shareholder participation is the heartbeat of a healthy corporate governance ecosystem,” said John Galloway, global head of investor engagement at Vanguard.
