WEST CHESTER, PA — Unruh Turner Burke & Frees said 16 of its attorneys were selected to the 2026 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists, extending the Chester County law firm’s visibility in key practice areas including real estate, land use, estate law, litigation, and corporate law.

The annual rankings, published by Thomson Reuters through its Super Lawyers rating service, evaluate attorneys through peer nominations, independent research, and peer review across more than 70 legal practice areas.

The recognition comes as regional law firms continue competing for high-value corporate, zoning, litigation, and estate planning work across southeastern Pennsylvania’s expanding suburban markets.

Attorney Andrew D.H. Rau was named for a third consecutive year to both the Pennsylvania Top 100 and Philadelphia Top 100 lists, distinctions reserved for attorneys receiving the highest overall evaluation scores during the Super Lawyers selection process.

The firm’s attorneys named to the 2026 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list were

  • Brian D. Boreman for employment and labor law;
  • William J. Burke III for real estate;
  • Theodore F. Claypoole for business and corporate law;
  • James C. Dalton for plaintiff civil litigation;
  • John K. Fiorillo for creditor debtor rights;
  • David M. Frees III for estate and probate law;
  • Ryan M. Jennings for land use and zoning;
  • Stephen P. Lagoy for alternative dispute resolution;
  • Andrew D.H. Rau for land use and zoning;
  • Amanda Sundquist for schools and education law;
  • Donald C. Turner for real estate; and
  • Ross A. Unruh for land use and zoning.

The firm revealed that Boreman, Burke, Fiorillo, Frees, Lagoy, Turner, and Unruh have each appeared on the Super Lawyers list for at least 10 years. Rau has been recognized for 10 consecutive years in addition to his Top 100 selections.

Four attorneys from the firm were also named to the 2026 Pennsylvania Rising Stars list, which recognizes lawyers either age 40 or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.

Those attorneys were Sydney D. Betts for estate and probate law, Daniel LePera for business and corporate law, Lauren C. Nehra for estate and probate law, and Daniel T. Yarnall for criminal defense.

According to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5% of attorneys in Pennsylvania are selected annually for the Rising Stars list.
