BERWYN, PA — Two Chester County financial advisors were named to Forbes’ 2026 Best-in-State Wealth Advisors rankings, extending Merrill Wealth Management’s presence on an industry list dominated by the firm’s representatives.
Berwyn residents Patrick Welde and Jason Pierce were recognized in the Philadelphia-area high-net-worth category. Welde ranked No. 13 in Pennsylvania, while Pierce placed No. 109.
Merrill reported that 2,314 of its advisors appeared on the Best-in-State list, more than any other firm. An additional 59 Merrill advisors were included in Forbes’ 2026 America’s Top Wealth Advisors rankings.
Welde serves as co-partner and head of business development for The Welde Group at Merrill. The team’s assets under management increased from $243 million in 2012 to approximately $1.2 billion, according to information provided by the firm.
The group added more than 20 clients and $62 million in assets during 2025. Welde, a Santa Clara University graduate and senior vice president at Merrill, has appeared on Forbes Advisor lists since 2018.
He also serves on the development and investment committees of Project HOME, a Philadelphia nonprofit focused on reducing chronic homelessness.
Pierce is a partner at Nottingham, Walsh, Goodman, Pierce & Associates at Merrill and has worked at the firm since 2014. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Financial Planner designations.
