WAYNE, PA — Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX) appointed former Medtronic executive Sean M. Salmon to its board of directors, extending a governance overhaul that has replaced one-third of the medical technology company’s board in 2026 as it pursues a broader strategic transformation.
Salmon’s appointment expands the Teleflex board to nine directors, eight of whom are independent, the company said.
He will also join the board’s Growth and Operating Committee, which was established earlier this year to oversee management’s execution of initiatives focused on operations, growth opportunities and organizational accountability.
Salmon spent more than two decades at Medtronic plc (NYSE: MDT), most recently serving from 2020 to 2025 as executive vice president and president of its Cardiovascular Portfolio.
The business generated approximately $12.5 billion in fiscal 2025 revenue, according to Teleflex. Salmon was involved in developing its growth strategy.
His earlier Medtronic positions included executive vice president and group president of Diabetes, president of the Coronary and Structural Heart businesses, president of the Coronary and Renal Denervation businesses, and general manager of the Coronary and Peripheral businesses.
Teleflex Chairman Andrew A. Krakauer pointed to Salmon’s experience in “capital allocation, portfolio strategy and operational execution” as particularly relevant as the company advances its strategic priorities.
Salmon has more than 30 years of experience across the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, including work involving cardiac ablation, coronary and peripheral vascular disease, and structural heart disease.
His experience also spans business development, research and development, clinical research, regulatory affairs, quality, finance, reimbursement and supply chain operations.
Since December 2025, Salmon has owned Zamboni Holdings LLC, which provides consulting and advisory services involving venture capital, private equity, investment banking and strategy consulting.
He is also an independent director of Adagio Medical Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: ADGM) and serves on the Healthcare at Kellogg Advisory Board.
Salmon holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in applied physiology from Boston University.
