WAYNE, PA — BTCS Inc. (Nasdaq: BTCS) has appointed former PwC partner Chris Janis to its board of directors, adding financial oversight and risk management experience as the blockchain infrastructure company continues to expand its operations.
Janis will also serve as chair of the board’s audit committee and as a member of the compensation committee, the company said.
He retired from PwC in June after serving as a partner in the firm’s Cyber, Risk & Regulatory Practice, where he led internal audit engagements and advised large global companies on governance, risk management and internal controls.
Before joining PwC in 2011, Janis held chief financial officer positions in the telecommunications and technology sectors, overseeing mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions and corporate restructurings.
Chief Executive Officer Charles Allen said Janis’ experience in corporate governance and financial oversight will support the company’s long-term growth and audit committee responsibilities.
BTCS develops blockchain infrastructure and decentralized finance technologies and has increasingly emphasized governance as the publicly traded company expands its operations in the digital asset sector.
Janis holds a Master of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University and bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance from La Salle University.
