WAYNE, PA — Inverness Graham has acquired a majority stake in water-management technology provider VivoAquatics, adding a fifth platform investment to its Green Light strategy as the private-equity firm targets businesses that can lower customers’ resource and operating costs.
VivoAquatics combines connected hardware, software and engineering services to help commercial customers monitor water quality and consumption, detect leaks, manage regulatory compliance and reduce energy and treatment costs.
Founded in 2014, the company operates the VivoPoint platform, which uses real-time data and AI-driven analytics to manage water systems. Its customers include large hospitality, fitness, municipal and multifamily real estate organizations.
Inverness Graham plans to use the investment to expand VivoAquatics’ market coverage and product and service offerings.
“Poor water management can rapidly erode a company’s brand value, and the cost of mistakes is tremendous,” Inverness Graham Managing Partner Michael Morrissey stated. He cited water quality, energy use and treatment costs as areas where the VivoPoint platform can affect customers’ operations.
The acquisition is part of Inverness Graham’s Green Light investment strategy, which focuses on technology-enabled businesses that combine economic benefits with more efficient use of resources.
VivoAquatics Chief Executive Officer Willan Johnson pointed to rising operational demands around water efficiency, conservation and compliance documentation while customers seek to control costs.
“Our customers are under real pressure to run their water systems efficiently, conserve water, and maintain detailed compliance records—all while controlling costs,” Johnson stated.
In addition to its software and monitoring capabilities, VivoAquatics provides engineering, installation and professional services for water systems. Its offerings cover water safety monitoring, leak detection, water-use monitoring and compliance management.
