WAYNE, PA — Private equity firm Inverness Graham has acquired a majority stake in ShipSigma, an artificial intelligence-powered parcel and supply chain software provider, expanding its investment portfolio in logistics technology aimed at reducing shipping costs and improving operational efficiency.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Inverness Graham said the acquisition is the fourth platform investment under its Green Light strategy, which targets companies whose technologies improve resource productivity while generating economic returns.
Founded in 2018, ShipSigma provides parcel and supply chain optimization services to small and medium-sized businesses. The company’s platform analyzes shipping data using artificial intelligence and more than 20 billion parcel and less-than-truckload records to identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs and improve logistics operations.
Beyond carrier contract optimization and automated invoice auditing, ShipSigma’s platform evaluates packaging strategies and distribution network design to help customers reduce packaging materials, improve vehicle utilization and shorten shipping distances.
“ShipSigma’s value proposition extends well beyond managing parcel spend,” said Ryan Geary, a principal at Inverness Graham. “The company’s AI-powered technology transforms enormous volumes of parcel data into actionable decisions about packaging and distribution-network design.”
ShipSigma co-founders Chase Flashman and Deyman Doolittle said the partnership is intended to support the company’s next stage of growth and expand its technology platform.
“Our work begins by helping customers understand and manage parcel spend, but that same parcel-level intelligence can inform better decisions across packaging and distribution-network design,” the founders said in a joint statement.
