WEST CHESTER, PA — Local news website MyChesCo plans to take its platform offline for about an hour on July 8 as it upgrades its server operating system, a move the company said is intended to improve performance and security.

The maintenance window is scheduled to occur sometime between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. Eastern, according to the company. The website is expected to be unavailable for approximately one hour during that period.

MyChesCo says the timing was selected to minimize disruption to readers and to ensure technical staff is available to respond if issues arise during the upgrade.

The company expects the system update itself to take less than an hour to complete.
