InsuranceAUM Taps Carroccio as Executive Director Amid Expansion

InsuranceAUM

MALVERN, PA — InsuranceAUM named Wesley Carroccio its next executive director and Jim Walsh director of community engagement as the organization expands its membership, education, and events business serving insurance investment professionals.

Carroccio will take over later this month from Lynde O’Brien, who is retiring after serving as executive director since 2025. InsuranceAUM is affiliated with The Institutes.

Carroccio brings more than 25 years of experience working with institutional investors and nonprofit organizations. She most recently served as managing director and director of strategic initiatives at Brockenbrough, a $4.3 billion investment management firm.

At Brockenbrough, Carroccio led client development and relationship efforts and worked on strategic initiatives involving foundation, endowment, and nonprofit clients.

Her previous positions include managing director of client development at Verger Capital Management and head of member outreach services at TIFF Investment Management. At TIFF, she led a team supporting more than 750 nonprofit member organizations representing about $11 billion invested in TIFF investment vehicles.

Carroccio will oversee InsuranceAUM’s strategy across membership, community engagement, education, events and media while working with The Institutes and its affiliates.

Walsh joins InsuranceAUM from The Institutes RiskStream Collaborative, where he has served as director of sales since 2024. His responsibilities there included membership growth, retention, and engagement for the insurance industry consortium.

As director of community engagement, Walsh will focus on relationships with insurance chief investment officers and other investment and finance professionals, along with sponsor engagement and membership expansion.

“Wesley’s deep experience working with institutional investors, nonprofit organizations, boards, and executive leadership, combined with Jim’s proven ability to build and strengthen membership communities and industry relationships, will help us deepen the value InsuranceAUM provides across the insurance investment community,” Susan Wisbey-Smith, group president of Membership Communities at The Institutes, stated.

The leadership changes coincide with a rebranding that will shorten the organization’s primary name from InsuranceAUM.com to InsuranceAUM.

The change reflects an effort to position InsuranceAUM as a broader professional community encompassing educational content, industry events, professional development, peer exchange, and investment expertise rather than primarily as a digital publication.

InsuranceAUM.com will remain the organization’s web address, while InsuranceAUM will become the name used across its communications, events, education, and community programs.
