MALVERN, PA — Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation raised more than $600,000 through its annual Swing 4 Scholarships golf tournament, expanding funding available to residents pursuing college and other postsecondary education opportunities.
The fundraising event, held May 11-13 at The Resort at Longboat Key Club in Sarasota, Florida, supports scholarship programs for residents of Balfour Beatty Communities properties.
The latest fundraising total adds to nearly $2 million the foundation has distributed through scholarships and resident-focused educational initiatives since its creation.
The scholarship program is designed to help residents continue their education beyond high school, a focus foundation leaders say remains central to its mission.
“Our Foundation exists to help residents unlock opportunity through education,” Sean Kent, president of Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation, said in a statement. “Thanks to their continued generosity, we’re able to invest in the potential of exceptional students and help them achieve their goals.”
The event drew support from dozens of companies involved in housing, construction, property services, insurance, legal services, and facility management.
Sponsors included Balfour Beatty, Berkadia, Bureau Veritas North America, HD Supply Facilities Maintenance, Home Depot Pro, Jackson Lewis LLP, Lockton Companies, Lowe’s Pro Supply, Mohawk & Daltile, Sunbelt Rentals, The Sherwin-Williams Co., Woolpert, Yardi, and numerous other industry partners.
The foundation has not yet announced scholarship award amounts or the number of students expected to benefit from the latest fundraising effort.
Organizers said information regarding the 2027 Swing 4 Scholarships tournament will be released through the foundation’s website in the coming months.
