A. Duie Pyle Expands Brokerage With Specialized Box Truck Service

WEST CHESTER, PA — A. Duie Pyle is expanding its transportation brokerage offerings with box truck services aimed at shippers moving oversized, high-value and time-sensitive freight that falls between traditional less-than-truckload and full truckload shipments.

The West Chester-based supply chain provider said the service is intended for freight typically measuring 16 to 26 feet in length and weighing less than 10,000 pounds, addressing a segment that often requires dedicated transportation without the cost of a full tractor-trailer.

Common shipments include machinery, industrial equipment, large crates, office furniture, retail fixtures, cabinets, automotive parts and conveyors, according to the company.

Unlike conventional freight services, box trucks provide direct point-to-point transportation and can be equipped with dock-height access, liftgates and pallet jacks, making them suitable for locations with limited receiving capabilities or freight requiring additional handling.

The brokerage service is also intended to support same-day deliveries, weekend shipments, seasonal capacity needs and temporary transportation shortages caused by equipment failures or driver absences.

“Every shipment has different requirements, and selecting the right transportation approach starts with understanding the freight, timeline and customer’s operational needs,” Craig Lough, director of strategic planning at A. Duie Pyle, stated.

Lough said the company’s brokerage team works with customers to determine when dedicated box truck capacity provides the most appropriate transportation solution based on shipment characteristics and delivery requirements.

A. Duie Pyle, a family-owned transportation and logistics company founded in 1924, said the new offering is supported through its nationwide brokerage network and complements its existing portfolio of asset-based and non-asset-based supply chain services.
