CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — SALT Performing Arts, once again, brings incredible Broadway-quality entertainment to the ‘burbs with Meredith Willson’s six-time Tony Award-winning musical comedy, The Music Man. Set in River City, Iowa, Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef.
By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic, and touching, The Music Man features some of the most well-known songs in the American musical theatre canon, such as Till There Was You, (Ya Got) Trouble, and Seventy-Six Trombones…it is family entertainment at its best!
“We’re all agog, as they say in 1912, to bring this critically acclaimed Broadway classic to SALT,” comments Lauren McComas, President and Artistic Director of SALT Performing Arts. “This is one of our biggest casts ever and it is full of some of the largest talents in the area, as well as peppy costumes, clever sets, and a live orchestra.”
