KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Electric violin, soaring guitar work and a mix of progressive rock and jazz fusion will fill Kennett Square when Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius and Jane Getter Premonition share the stage at Kennett Flash on Sunday, Nov. 8.
The 7 p.m. concert brings together two bands with connections to some of rock, jazz and pop music’s best-known performers, while giving local audiences a chance to hear both recent releases and new material.
Joe Deninzon leads Stratospheerius on electric violin and vocals. In 2023, Deninzon joined Kansas as its violinist, backup vocalist, and rhythm guitarist after a career that has included recording or performing with artists including The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow, Ritchie Blackmore, Peter Criss, and 50 Cent.
Deninzon founded Stratospheerius in 2001. The current lineup features Deninzon, drummer Jason Gianni, guitarist Michelangelo Quirinale and bassist Dan Asher.
The Kennett Square set will reach across the band’s catalog and include unreleased material along with music from its latest album, “Impostor!”
Jane Getter Premonition will bring its blend of progressive rock and jazz fusion to the double bill, led by New York City guitarist, singer and composer Jane Getter.
Getter’s band features keyboardist Adam Holzman, whose credits include Miles Davis and Steven Wilson; bassist and singer Paul Frazier, who has worked with David Byrne and Nile Rodgers; and drummer Gene Lake, whose credits include David Sanborn and Boz Scaggs.
Quirinale will also perform with Jane Getter Premonition for the Kennett Flash appearance, filling in for guitarist Alex Skolnick.
The group will feature music from its latest album, “Transmogrify.” Jane Getter Premonition has previously appeared at Cruise to the Edge, ProgStock and the San Francisco Jazz Festival and has performed internationally.
Getter’s own credits include performances with Lenny White, Brother Jack McDuff and The Roots, as well as an appearance as a member of the “Saturday Night Live” band.
