MALVERN, PA — Malvern Borough will host its inaugural Malvern GreenFest on Saturday, May 16, bringing together residents, local organizations, businesses, and environmental advocates for a free afternoon focused on sustainability, education, and community connection.

The first-time event will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Burke Park, transforming the space into what organizers describe as a “hub of eco-inspiration” dedicated to greener living and environmental action.

Hosted in partnership with the Borough’s Parks & Recreation Committee, Shade Tree Commission, and Environmental Advisory Council, GreenFest aims to introduce residents to practical ways they can support a healthier and more sustainable community.

Festival activities will include live music, food vendors, educational exhibits, crafts for children, recycling information, composting demonstrations, and a native garden tour throughout the Borough. Organizers say the event is designed to appeal to residents of all ages, whether they are already active in environmental efforts or just beginning to learn about sustainability.

GreenFest will also highlight Malvern Borough’s ongoing environmental initiatives, including a native garden tour organized by the Environmental Advisory Council. The tour will showcase local gardens featuring native plants that support pollinators, improve stormwater management, and strengthen neighborhood ecosystems.

In addition, residents can learn about the Borough’s composting efforts through demonstrations by Back to Earth Compost Crew and information about subsidized compost pickup and drop-off opportunities.

Organizers describe the event as both educational and celebratory, encouraging residents to connect with neighbors while discovering simple actions that can make a lasting environmental impact.

Admission to Malvern GreenFest is free and open to the public. Additional event details are available on the Borough calendar at Malvern.org/GreenFest
