EXTON, PA — Music, dancing and a sky filled with drones will bring six Chester County municipalities together at Exton Park as a postponed West Chester celebration gets a new date, a new home and a broader America250 spotlight.
The free America250 Concert & Drone Show is set for Thursday, Sept. 3, with Yesterday’s News Band performing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. An America250-themed drone show will follow the concert, although organizers have not listed an exact start time for the aerial display.
The event is hosted by the West Chester Area Council of Governments and its six participating communities: East Bradford Township, East Goshen Township, West Chester Borough, West Goshen Township, West Whiteland Township and Westtown Township.
That regional partnership gives the evening a wider community focus as the area marks the nation’s 250th anniversary. Rather than limiting the celebration to a single borough or township, the participating municipalities are inviting residents from across the West Chester area to gather for a shared night of entertainment.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets — along with their dancing shoes — for the outdoor concert. Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the evening.
The drone show was originally planned for Aug. 2 in downtown West Chester but was postponed. Exton Park will now provide the setting for the rescheduled celebration.
People who purchased tickets for the original Aug. 2 Downtown West Chester Drone Show will receive access to a designated VIP area at the new event. The reserved section will offer front-row seating in a roped-off area along with snacks and drinks. The VIP area is limited to those previous ticket holders; general admission to the Sept. 3 event is free.
Free event parking will be available at the adjacent Valley Creek Corporate Center.
