WEST CHESTER, PA — A deeper look at the life of George Washington is coming to West Chester as one of the nation’s most respected historians takes the stage for a special evening event tied to America’s 250th anniversary.

Two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist and New York Times bestselling author H.W. Brands will visit West Chester University for a live conversation and book signing centered on his latest work, American Patriarch: The Life of George Washington. The event offers residents a chance to hear firsthand from a historian whose work has shaped modern understanding of the nation’s founding figures.

Taking place at the Philips Autograph Library, the evening will explore Washington’s journey—from his early military career and leadership during the American Revolution to his role in shaping the presidency and the nation itself.
