WEST CHESTER, PA — A burst of creativity has taken over West Chester, where nearly 500 student-created works are transforming gallery walls into a celebration of young artistic talent.

The Chester County High School Art Exhibition is now open to the public, offering visitors a chance to experience everything from sculptures and oil paintings to colored pencil drawings and photography—all created by high school students from across the county.

Hosted at the Chester County Art Association, the exhibition highlights the depth and diversity of student creativity while giving the community an opportunity to support the next generation of artists.

Where Local Talent Meets National Opportunity

Beyond the local showcase, select pieces are also competing in Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan’s Congressional Art Competition, a nationwide program that gives young artists a chance to have their work displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a full year.

Students from Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District—which includes most of Chester County and parts of southeastern Berks County—are eligible for this prestigious honor.

“The talent on display at this exhibition never ceases to impress me,” said Kathy Gurnee, special events coordinator for the Chester County Intermediate Unit. “These students pour passion and skill into every piece they create. Each year brings a whole new group of artists, and I’m always eager to see what they bring to the table.”

A Community Celebration of Creativity

Coordinated by the Chester County Intermediate Unit and supported in part by CCRES Educational and Behavioral Health Services, the exhibition serves as both a platform for student expression and a gathering point for the community to engage with the arts.
