KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District has appointed Dr. Kyle Brun as principal of Charles F. Patton Middle School, bringing a district alumnus and current Garnet Valley administrator back to Unionville-Chadds Ford to lead the middle school by late November.
The district’s Board of Directors unanimously approved Brun’s appointment last week. He will begin the position on or before Nov. 23.
Brun currently serves as an assistant principal at Garnet Valley Middle School and an adjunct professor in West Chester University’s Doctorate of Educational Leadership and Higher Education Administration Program.
His previous roles include supervisor of curriculum and instruction for the Garnet Valley School District and middle school science teacher and coach in the West Chester Area and State College Area school districts.
“Throughout the interview process, Dr. Brun showed us that he is ready to lead, support our exceptional educators, and shape the best possible experience for our students,” Superintendent Dr. Tim Hoffman said.
The appointment also marks a return to Brun’s former school district. He graduated from Unionville High School and is a district parent whose children attended Patton Middle School.
“The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District holds a special place in my heart,” Brun said. “As a parent of children who attended Patton Middle School, I have witnessed the exceptional education and care the staff provides that make this school such a special place.”
The district began its search by holding focus groups with members of the Patton Middle School community. Feedback from those sessions was used to inform the interview process.
Families, staff, administrators, and school board members participated in interviews before the board approved Brun’s appointment.
