WEST CHESTER, PA — BLAST Robotics students spent two days inspiring curiosity, showcasing innovation, and connecting with future STEM leaders as the team welcomed hundreds of visitors to its exhibit during STEMFest 2026 at the American Helicopter Museum & Education Center.
Representing FIRST Robotics Competition Team 10989, BLAST Robotics participated as an exhibitor during the May 30-31 event, engaging with elementary and high school students, parents, educators, volunteers, and technology enthusiasts from across the region. Through live demonstrations and hands-on conversations, team members highlighted how robotics helps students develop skills in engineering, programming, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
The atmosphere throughout the festival was energetic and interactive, with visitors gathering around the team’s displays to learn more about robotics and explore potential pathways into STEM careers.
Beyond sharing their work with the public, BLAST Robotics members also used the event to strengthen relationships with professionals and organizations involved in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. Team representatives met with engineering professionals, industry leaders, educational organizations, and workforce development partners to discuss future opportunities for collaboration and student engagement.
One notable connection came through discussions with representatives from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, where conversations focused on expanding mentorship opportunities, career exploration programs, and additional STEM experiences for students.
Organizers said the event reinforced the importance of community engagement in helping students discover interests that could shape future careers.
At the heart of the team’s participation was a simple goal: showing young people that a single conversation or demonstration can spark a lifelong interest in innovation, engineering, entrepreneurship, or technical trades.
BLAST Robotics expressed gratitude to everyone who stopped by the exhibit, asked questions, shared ideas, and supported STEM education throughout the weekend. The team also recognized the American Helicopter Museum & Education Center for hosting STEMFest and creating a space where students, educators, industry professionals, and families could connect through science and technology.
Following the success of this year’s event, BLAST Robotics plans to continue expanding its community outreach efforts, building new industry partnerships, and creating more opportunities for students to explore robotics and STEM careers in the years ahead.
