KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Kennett Square Police Department is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Parking Enforcement Officer position. This role offers an opportunity to join the department in assisting with parking regulations and enforcement within the Borough of Kennett Square.
Applicants must meet several key qualifications to be considered. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold U.S. citizenship, and possess a high school diploma or GED. A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a clean driving record is also required. Successful applicants will undergo an extensive background investigation, and any criminal history that would prevent employment will result in disqualification.
Physical and mental capabilities required for the job include the ability to perform extensive walking, lift over 30 pounds, and communicate effectively. Applicants must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to engage the public professionally and calmly. Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in both English and Spanish, are preferred.
Work hours primarily fall between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with flexibility as parking enforcement needs evolve. The position requires 20 to 30 hours per week, with a starting pay of $17.50 per hour, based on training and experience. While the role does not include health benefits, paid time off, or paid holidays, training will be provided to successful candidates.
