Chester County Wins Nearly $1 Million for Fire, Public Works Projects

Grants

HARRISBURG, PA — Three Chester County projects will receive a combined $995,000 in Statewide Local Share Account grants for fire equipment and public works infrastructure, part of nearly $3.8 million secured by Radnor-based, woman-owned ECON Partners for 11 projects across Pennsylvania.

The City of Coatesville received $100,000 toward the purchase of a firefighting ladder truck, while the Borough of Parkesburg was awarded $100,000 to construct a new Public Works Garage.

The Borough of Oxford and Union Fire Company received the largest Chester County award, $795,000 for a new fire engine.

The funding comes as aging buildings, infrastructure and essential-service facilities are creating mounting capital needs across the region, including at emergency-service agencies, health care facilities and institutions such as the Academy of Natural Sciences.
