Chester County Announces 2024 Town Tours & Village Walks with Celebratory Kick-Off Event

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County Commissioners Josh Maxwell, Marian Moskowitz, and Eric Roe have unveiled the details for the 2024 Town Tours & Village Walks program. The series will commence at the Chester County History Center in West Chester on Thursday evening, June 6.

Marking its 30th year, the Chester County Town Tours & Village Walks program remains a popular event, drawing residents and visitors alike. This free series showcases Chester County’s rich cultural heritage through engaging lectures and evening strolls. The program consists of nine different events held weekly in various communities throughout the county, running until August 15.

The kick-off event on June 6 will not only launch the 2024 program but also celebrate West Chester Borough’s 225th anniversary. The event will highlight its transformation from a Quaker village to the vibrant community it is today. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m., with the program starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by walking tours.

The additional programs are scheduled as follows:

  • June 13: Coventryville in South Coventry Township
  • June 20: Main Street at Exton, West Whiteland Township
  • June 27: Upland Farm, Upper Uwchlan Township
  • July 11: Highland Orchards, West Bradford Township
  • July 18: White Horse Village, East Whiteland Township
  • July 25: Baird House, Uwchlan Township
  • August 1: Baptist Church in the Great Valley, Tredyffrin Township
  • August 8: Coventry Woods, North Coventry Township
  • August 15: Yellow Springs, West Pikeland Township

All events are free and open to the public. Each tour begins at 5:30 p.m. and lasts around 50 minutes, with the last tour departing at 7:00 p.m. Preregistration is not required; attendees can sign up onsite at the advertised starting point of each tour.
