The GIANT Company is offering customers the opportunity to redeem grocery rewards points for a free Thanksgiving turkey through Nov. 26, bringing back a seasonal savings program as households prepare for holiday food purchases.

The Carlisle-based supermarket operator said customers at GIANT and MARTIN’S stores can use accumulated CHOICE points to obtain a turkey or an alternative reward selection through its Choice Rewards program.

The promotion is available to shoppers using a GIANT or MARTIN’S loyalty card, with rewards activation and redemption offered both in stores and online.

Customers can check their available points at the bottom of their grocery receipts or through the GIANT and MARTIN’S mobile applications.

The program gives participating shoppers another way to offset Thanksgiving grocery expenses by applying rewards earned through purchases toward a holiday meal.

“We know families are looking for ways to get more value from every grocery trip, especially during the holiday season,” Rebecca Lupfer, chief merchant of The GIANT Company, stated.

Lupfer said the retailer is combining the turkey promotion with its broader grocery pricing strategy to help customers manage the cost of Thanksgiving meals.

The company is also allowing customers to donate their free turkey certificates to local food banks rather than redeeming them for personal use.

Donations can be made at the checkout register in participating GIANT and MARTIN’S stores, providing an option for shoppers to direct their rewards toward food assistance during the holiday season.

The promotion continues through Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26.

GIANT and MARTIN’S stores will remain open on Thanksgiving until 3 p.m., while their pharmacies will be closed for the holiday.
