KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Police in Kennett Square have issued an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Yohan Salinas after a traffic stop early Saturday morning led to allegations of driving under the influence and the discovery of a stolen vehicle.
According to the Kennett Square Police Department, the incident began on August 23, 2025, around 2:27 a.m., when officers stopped a 2005 GMC in the 600 block of East Cypress Street for failing to stay within its lane. Police allege that the driver, identified as Salinas, showed signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were administered, and a chemical breath test later indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.104%, authorities said.
Salinas was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, processed, and later released pending a summons. However, police reported that around 11:37 a.m. the same day, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle — the same GMC that Salinas had been driving earlier.
Investigators allege that Salinas was operating a stolen vehicle at the time of his DUI arrest, prompting the issuance of a warrant by District Court 15-3-04.
Salinas has been charged with the following offenses:
- Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition
- Receiving Stolen Property
- DUI (BAC .10% – Less Than .16%)
- Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic
- False Identification to Law Enforcement
- Other related traffic offenses
The warrant was issued on August 23, 2025, under docket number MJ-15304-CR-0000221-2025.
Authorities are asking anyone who sees Salinas or knows his whereabouts to contact the Kennett Square Police Department at 610-444-0501 or call 911.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
