WILMINGTON, DE — EnterpriseDB (EDB) announced a major expansion of its sovereign data and AI platform, EDB Postgres AI (EDB PG AI), through integration with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and AI software. The move is designed to help enterprises deploy generative and agentic AI solutions with greater speed, efficiency, and governance.
According to research commissioned by EDB earlier this year, only 13% of large enterprises worldwide are currently achieving sustainable returns from their AI investments. Yet, 90% plan to establish their own sovereign AI and data platforms within three years, underscoring the importance of data control and infrastructure sovereignty as adoption accelerates.
By combining EDB PG AI with NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, including NVIDIA NIM microservices and the NVIDIA NeMo Retriever, organizations will be able to build AI applications on PostgreSQL while benefiting from improved scalability and cost efficiency. The integration promises measurable performance gains, including two- to threefold throughput improvements in data embedding tasks, up to double retrieval performance, and a threefold acceleration in bringing sovereign AI applications into production.
This software-optimized path to AI production also translates into significant cost savings compared with traditional cloud-native AI stacks. As an NVIDIA Partner Network member, EDB will gain access to NVIDIA’s latest tools and best practices, supporting ongoing enhancements across its AI Factory.
“Sovereignty is now the defining factor in enterprise AI success,” said Nancy Hensley, Chief Product Officer at EDB. “By integrating NVIDIA AI software into EDB Postgres AI, we’re giving customers the performance and control they need to build secure, agentic AI solutions on their terms, wherever their data lives.”
The announcement positions EDB PG AI as a secure, high-performance platform capable of helping enterprises overcome fragmented infrastructure while maintaining control over data and AI models. With demand for sovereign AI strategies rising, the partnership between EDB and NVIDIA highlights the growing importance of integrating performance-driven innovation with governance and long-term resilience in enterprise AI deployments.
