OXFORD, PA — A former employee has been charged in connection with an early morning burglary at a Dunkin Donuts in Oxford, where cash intended for deposit was reported missing.
According to the Oxford Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Dunkin Donuts located at 321 North Third Street on April 14, 2025, at approximately 5:08 a.m., following a report of a burglary that had just been discovered. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the store manager, who reported that money set aside for deposit had been taken from the safe.
Through the course of their investigation, police determined that 39-year-old Carrie Griest of Nottingham, a former employee of the business, allegedly used a key to gain unauthorized entry into the store. Authorities allege that once inside, Griest disabled the security system before accessing the safe and removing the cash.
As a result of the investigation, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Griest by the Oxford District Court on May 29, 2025.
On June 25, 2025, Griest was taken into custody by the Pennsylvania State Police on unrelated charges. She was subsequently turned over to the Oxford Police Department for processing and later transported by constables to Chester County Prison.
Griest was arraigned and is currently being held on $5,000 bail, with the option of 10% cash payment. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for today, July 8, 2025, at the Oxford District Court.
Griest faces multiple charges, including burglary (not adapted for overnight accommodations), criminal trespass, receiving stolen property, and theft by unlawful taking.
All charges are allegations, and Carrie Griest is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
