Is Your Commute on These Montgomery County Roads About to Change?

Traffic Advisory

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that high-friction resurfacing operations will begin next week on two state highways in Montgomery County to improve roadway safety under various driving conditions.

The work will commence on Wednesday, June 25, and is expected to continue through Monday, August 4. Alternating lane closures with flagging will occur on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the following locations:

  • Barren Hill Road/Cedar Grove Lane, between Joshua Road and Brooke Lane, in Whitemarsh Township.
  • Davisville Road, between Bryers Road and Exton Road, in Upper Moreland Township.

Motorists traveling through these areas are advised to allow extra time as backups and delays are expected. PennDOT has noted that all operations are weather-dependent and may experience adjustments if conditions require.

This resurfacing effort is part of a broader $4.1 million project aimed at installing High-Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) across several state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. HFST technology enhances pavement grip in both wet and dry conditions, improving overall roadway safety.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution and remain patient when traveling through the work zones. PennDOT reaffirms its commitment to delivering smoother, safer roadways for all Pennsylvanians.
