MEDIA, PA — The Art Gallery at Delaware County Community College is showcasing a captivating collection of botanical illustrations by members of the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators (PSBI). The exhibit, which runs through June 26, 2025, is being held in Room 2305 of the Academic Building on the college’s Marple Campus, located at 901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA.

The free exhibit features intricate works that celebrate the intersection of science and art. Botanical illustration, renowned for its emphasis on accuracy and fine detail, aims to capture the precise morphology, color, and structure of plants for scientific study. Unlike photographs, these illustrations provide extraordinary clarity, conveying details that might otherwise be overlooked. They also embody artistic elegance, blending scientific precision with skillful composition to create pieces that are both informative and visually stunning.

PSBI’s artists, known for their participation in regional showcases such as the Philadelphia Flower Show, bring their expertise and passion to the exhibit. Their works underscore the dedication required to highlight the subtle beauty and complexity of plants through meticulous observation and artistic talent.

The gallery is open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, except on June 19 when the college is closed. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in this unique artistic experience, which celebrates the extraordinary detail and beauty of the natural world.

Don’t miss the opportunity to view this inspiring exhibit, which bridges the gap between science and art while demonstrating the creativity and skill of some of the region’s most talented botanical illustrators.
