KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Kennett Square police are seeking a 20-year-old Avondale man after he allegedly failed to appear for a scheduled preliminary hearing in a DUI case, prompting a district court to issue a bench warrant.
According to the Kennett Square Police Department, District Court 15-3-04 issued a bench warrant for Mauricio Landeros-Garcia on July 15 after he did not appear for his preliminary hearing.
The charges stem from a traffic stop conducted at approximately 10:49 p.m. May 31 in the 500 block of West State Street.
Police reported that officers stopped the 2009 Honda Landeros-Garcia was driving because of aftermarket window tint covering the vehicle’s side and rear windows. During the traffic stop, officers allegedly observed signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety tests that indicated intoxication.
According to police, Landeros-Garcia submitted to a breath test that measured a blood alcohol concentration of 0.122%. He was taken into custody, processed and later released pending the filing of charges.
Landeros-Garcia is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI involving a minor, purchase, consumption or possession of liquor, driving without a required license and improper sunscreening. The case is docketed in District Court 15-3-04 under docket number MJ-15304-CR-0000122-2026.
Police are asking anyone with information on Landeros-Garcia’s whereabouts to contact the Kennett Square Police Department.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
