CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through Sunday evening as a fresh round of snow, followed by sharply colder air, ushers Chester County into a punishing midwinter stretch that will define the week ahead.

Snow is likely Sunday morning, tapering off before midday but leaving behind two to four inches of accumulation across the county. Skies stay cloudy through the afternoon, with highs near 35. Winds remain light early before turning northwest later in the day, allowing colder air to seep in. By evening, clouds gradually break, and temperatures plunge overnight to around 16.

Conditions improve on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but the cold deepens. Sunshine dominates, though brisk southwest winds strengthen through the afternoon, with gusts approaching 25 mph. Highs reach only the low 30s. Clear skies Monday night allow temperatures to collapse to near 9, setting the stage for the coldest air of the week.

A slow moderation begins Wednesday as sunshine returns and highs rebound into the low 30s. Clouds increase Wednesday night, keeping lows closer to the mid-20s. Thursday and Friday remain dry and seasonably cold, with daytime highs in the low to mid-30s and overnight lows in the teens and lower 20s.
