CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Buckle up, Chester County — the final days of November are coming in hot… well, actually cold, wet, snowy, windy, and everything in between. A powerful storm system will sweep through the region on Tuesday, bringing a messy mix of snow and rain, followed by a blast of midweek sunshine and a bitter Arctic chill to close out the week. If you were hoping for calm weather, you may need to have a stern word with Mother Nature.
Today brings a mostly cloudy sky with rain likely between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Expect a high near 44 and a brisk south wind up to 10 mph, with gusts to 25 mph. The rainfall should be light — less than a tenth of an inch — but enough to make the afternoon gloomy.
Tonight, clouds break apart and temperatures drop sharply to around 28 degrees. Winds shift west, still gusting up to 20 mph. Roads may dry out quickly, but it will feel every bit like late November.
Monday offers a brief break from the unsettled pattern. Mostly sunny skies push highs near 42, with a crisp northwest breeze. Monday night turns colder and more complicated, with snow possible after 1 a.m. Accumulations around an inch may dust Chester County before sunrise.
Tuesday is the main event — a messy winter storm with 100% precipitation chances throughout the day. Rain and snow arrive early, changing to rain from south to north by early afternoon, then switching back to a rain and snow combo toward evening. Highs will top out around 39 degrees. Snow accumulations in Chester County should remain under an inch, but the timing could make both morning and evening commutes less than joyful.
Wider regional impacts include 1–4 inches of snow northwest of I-95 and heavier totals (4–8 inches) across the higher elevations of the Poconos and northwest New Jersey. Rainfall totals between 0.75 and 1.25 inches are expected across the region, though no flooding issues are anticipated. Gusty northwest winds will develop Tuesday evening, especially along the coast.
Tuesday night stays wintry with rain and snow tapering off before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of lingering drizzle. Temperatures plunge to around 23 degrees.
Wednesday turns bright but cold, with sunshine and a high near 37. Wednesday night dips to around 25.
Thursday brings partly sunny skies and a high around 41, but Thursday night plunges back into winter with a sharp low near 16 degrees — bring the pets and plants inside for this one.
Friday stays frigid with a high near 31 under partly sunny skies. Snow becomes likely Friday night with a 60% chance as a new system approaches.
Saturday wraps up the week with a chance of rain and snow and a high near 37 — a chilly, cloudy finish to a very busy weather stretch.
