CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Mother Nature seems to be having an identity crisis this week, serving up a taste of spring before snapping right back to January form. Expect a damp and unusually warm Sunday, followed by a sharp cool-down that’ll remind everyone it’s still winter in Chester County.
Today brings cloudy skies and scattered showers, mainly late morning through early afternoon, with temperatures climbing to an unseasonably mild 61 degrees. A southeast breeze around 5 to 10 mph will keep things comfortable, and while the rain isn’t expected to be heavy, you might need the windshield wipers a few times.
Tonight, more showers will linger until around midnight before tapering off. Lows will dip to about 41 as winds shift to the northwest and pick up slightly — the first hint that colder air is on the move.
Monday looks mostly cloudy and noticeably cooler, topping out near 49 degrees. By Monday night, temperatures will drop sharply to around 26 under partly cloudy skies, with a light northwest breeze that’ll make it feel even chillier.
Tuesday (Veterans Day) will deliver classic January weather — mostly sunny but brisk, with highs around 43 and strong west winds gusting up to 35 mph. If you plan to attend any outdoor ceremonies, bundle up and hold onto your hat.
Midweek brings a gradual rebound. Wednesday and Thursday will both be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the lower 50s, giving the region a pleasant midwinter reprieve. Nights will hover in the low to mid-30s, cool but manageable for this time of year.
By Friday and Saturday, the pattern holds steady — sunny, calm, and mild, with highs near 50 to 52 degrees and lows around 30. It’s the kind of winter stretch that makes you wonder if you should shovel the driveway or just fire up the grill instead.
