Arctic Winds Rule Chester County as Snow Chances Lurk Late Week

Chester County Weather

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Chester County opens the week locked in a hard, wind-driven freeze, with bitter wind chills, modest daytime highs, and a few windows for light snow that could create sporadic travel issues.

Sunday is cold and restless. Skies turn partly sunny, but it will feel far from bright as north winds of 15 to 20 mph gust to 30 mph. Highs reach only near 22, while wind chills dip as low as -8, making exposed skin and early-morning travel especially uncomfortable. Sunday night stays partly cloudy and sharply cold, with lows around 11 and gusty northwest winds maintaining wind chills near or below zero at times.

Monday brings more sun, but the cold holds firm. Highs climb to about 28, and while winds ease compared to Sunday, northwest gusts near 25 mph will keep wind chills suppressed, particularly during the morning. Monday night is quieter and clear, with lows around 11 as winds fade toward calm.

A slight moderation arrives Tuesday. Skies remain mostly sunny and highs push to around 31, with lighter winds offering the first hint of relief. Tuesday night turns cloudier, and there is a slight chance of snow after 1 a.m. While odds are low, any brief burst of snow could leave a light coating in spots and create slick patches on untreated roads near daybreak.

Wednesday returns to dry, seasonably cold winter weather. Sunshine dominates with highs near 28, followed by a cold, partly cloudy night with lows around 10.

Thursday looks like the steadiest day of the week: sunny, cold, and calm by comparison, with highs near 27 and lows around 9 Thursday night.

By Friday, attention shifts back to the sky. Clouds increase and a chance of snow develops, continuing into Friday night. With highs near 30 and lows near 12, any snow that falls would be prone to sticking, especially after dark and on colder surfaces. Confidence is higher that some areas see flakes, but overall coverage and accumulation remain uncertain this far out.

Saturday turns colder again, with more sun returning but highs dropping back near 20 — a reminder that winter remains in control across Chester County.
