EAST BRANDYWINE TWP, PA — Drivers in East Brandywine Township should prepare for extended detours and possible traffic backups beginning Tuesday, May 26, as sewer installation work forces the closure of a section of Guthriesville Road in Chester County.

According to township officials, Guthriesville Road will be closed between Quail Hill Lane and Brookhaven Lane throughout the project.

During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Little Washington Road and U.S. 322 (Horseshoe Pike) around the work zone.

Motorists traveling near the area should expect delays and slower traffic conditions, particularly during peak commuting hours. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and seek alternate routes when possible.

East Brandywine Township is performing the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit. All scheduled activities remain weather dependent and could change if conditions warrant.
