WEST PIKELAND TWP, PA — A major bridge replacement project will shut down a section of Art School Road for more than two years beginning Wednesday, May 13, significantly impacting local travel in Chester County.

Art School Road will be closed around the clock between Yellow Springs Road and Tiptop Road as crews replace two bridges over a branch of Pickering Creek and rebuild the surrounding roadway.
During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Yellow Springs Road, Route 113, Route 401 (Conestoga Road), and Chester Springs Road to travel around the work zone.
Local access will be maintained, and temporary access will be provided for the nearby equestrian center.
Motorists should expect delays near the closure and along detour routes. Plan extra time and consider alternate routes where possible.
The project includes replacing two bridges, widening the roadway, constructing a retaining wall, and improving drainage along the corridor.
