WEST CHESTER, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that construction will continue on Business U.S. 322 (High Street) as part of an ongoing project to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety in West Chester Borough and West Goshen Township.
From Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 7, lane closures with flagging will be in effect between Barnard Street and Lacy Street from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for lighting conduit installation. Drivers should plan for delays and allow extra travel time when navigating through the area. All work is weather dependent.
The multi-phase project includes new traffic signals at University Avenue and Sharpless Street, upgraded LED lighting, pedestrian countdown timers, curb extensions, and high-visibility crosswalks. Crews will also complete drainage improvements, full-depth pavement restoration, and resurfacing along the corridor.
Marino Corporation of Skippack, Pennsylvania, is overseeing the $2.6 million federally funded project, which is expected to be completed in winter 2026.
