Traffic Alert: Construction at Route 23 and Starr Street Intersection in Phoenixville Borough

Traffic Alert

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Construction is expected to continue at the Route 23 (Nutt Road) and Starr Street Intersection in Phoenixville Borough, Chester County, on a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) project to reduce congestion and improve mobility and safety.

On Monday, November 6, through Friday, November 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a periodic lane closure is scheduled at the Route 23 (Nutt Road) and Starr Street Intersection for traffic signal upgrade.

Drivers are being advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PennDOT’s improvement project involves constructing a dedicated left-turn lane on eastbound Route 23 and widening westbound Route 23 at the intersection. Additional enhancements include new traffic signals, ADA curb ramps, pavement markings, and road resurfacing.

Marino Corporation of Skippack, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this $941,319 project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
