The work is part of a $2.5 million project covering roughly the Route 23 corridor between Route 724 (Schuylkill Road) and Whitehorse Road through East Pikeland and Schuylkill townships and Phoenixville Borough.

Improvements will include widening and restriping the eastbound approach on Route 23 to create a dedicated left-turn lane at Township Line Road. Crews will also remove median islands and reconfigure the nearby intersection of Route 23 (Nutt Road) and Route 113 (Bridge Street) within the existing roadway layout.

The project also includes upgrades at multiple signalized intersections along the corridor to improve traffic flow and safety.

Drivers traveling through the Phoenixville-area corridor should expect periodic delays when lane closures are active. Motorists are encouraged to plan extra travel time and consider alternate routes when possible.

H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor on the federally funded project. PennDOT expects construction to continue through fall 2026.
