PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A long-term weekday closure at a key intersection will begin Monday, April 27, as construction continues on a Route 23 safety improvement project in Chester County.

Drivers will be directed to use Route 113 (Bridge Street), Gay Street, 5th Avenue, and Route 23 (Nutt Road) to navigate around the closure.

The work is part of a broader project to improve safety along the Route 23 corridor between Route 724 (Schuylkill Road) and Whitehorse Road, spanning East Pikeland and Schuylkill townships and Phoenixville Borough.

Planned upgrades include intersection reconfiguration, signal improvements, lane adjustments, and milling and repaving work aimed at reducing congestion and improving traffic flow.

Drivers should plan extra time, expect delays, and seek alternate routes when traveling through the area.
