NORTH COVENTRY TWP & LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — Drivers commuting along the U.S. 422 corridor in western Chester and Montgomery counties should prepare for daytime lane restrictions next week.
PennDOT announced that periodic lane closures will occur on westbound U.S. 422 between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Hanover Street interchanges from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, February 23 through February 27.
Eastbound motorists will also encounter periodic lane closures between the Hanover Street and Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) interchanges from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the same dates.
No detours are planned, but drivers should expect congestion and intermittent slowdowns in both directions, particularly during the morning and afternoon travel windows. Plan extra time if your commute includes this stretch of expressway and remain alert for changing traffic patterns in the work zone.
The construction is part of PennDOT’s $83.6 million project to reconstruct approximately 2.1 miles of U.S. 422 and replace bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.
