WEST PIKELAND TWP, PA — Overnight travel on Conestoga Road (Route 401) will be disrupted next week as the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission continues overhead bridge construction in Chester County, PennDOT announced.
Beginning Monday, December 8, and continuing through Friday, December 12, crews will implement alternating lane closures with flagging each night from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM between Newcomen Road and 7 Oaks Road. The work is part of ongoing improvements tied to the nearby Turnpike corridor, where aging structures are undergoing staged repairs and upgrades.
PennDOT cautioned motorists to expect delays and allow additional travel time, especially during the early morning and late-evening hours when the lane restrictions will be in full effect. Local traffic will be maintained, but slowdowns are likely as crews shift equipment and manage alternating lane movements.
All work is weather dependent.
