Major Road Repairs Set to Slow Traffic Across Four Southeastern PA Counties

Traffic Alert

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Drivers across the region should expect delays next week as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) continues a series of resurfacing and pavement repair projects spanning Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, and Delaware counties. The work is part of a broader effort to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highways across the five-county region.

In Philadelphia, crews will perform line painting along several key corridors from Monday, November 17, through Friday, November 21, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Work zones include sections of Chestnut Street between 22nd Street and Broad Street, Walnut Street between Broad and 23rd, Oregon Avenue between Delaware Avenue and 15th Street, and Penn Square near City Hall.

Chester County motorists will encounter flagging on Hanover Street at Krepps Lane in North Coventry Township from Monday, November 17, through Wednesday, November 19, for paving operations.

PennDOT advises motorists to allow extra travel time when passing through these work zones, as traffic backups and delays are expected. All schedules are weather dependent.

The resurfacing program aims to extend roadway life and enhance driving safety by sealing pavement, improving drainage, and providing a smoother surface for travelers.
