CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that weekday lane closures will continue on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between the Kennett Oxford Bypass and Greenwood Road in Kennett and East Marlborough townships as part of a $10.4 million widening and safety improvement project.
Through Wednesday, December 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures will be in place in both directions. Motorists should expect backups and delays when traveling through the area. All work is weather dependent.
The project includes milling and overlay, construction of a third travel lane, new sidewalks, intersection upgrades, and installation of Dynamic Message Signs. Work is being performed by Allan Myers, LP, of Worcester, Montgomery County, and is federally funded.
