Heads Up: Your Drive Through West Brandywine Township Faces Delays Due to Roundabout Construction!

Traffic Alert

WEST BRANDYWINE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that construction on the roundabout project at the intersection of Route 82 (Manor Road) and Cedar Knoll Road/Reeceville Road in West Brandywine Township, Chester County, is set to continue into the coming week. This initiative aims to enhance travel efficiency and safety through this critical junction.

A scheduled lane closure will take place on Thursday, October 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the intersection of Route 82 (Manor Road) with E. Reeceville Road and Cedar Knoll Road. Motorists are advised to anticipate potential delays and to allow additional travel time as the closure may result in significant backups within the work zone. It is important to note that all scheduled activities are contingent upon favorable weather conditions and may be subject to change.

The major construction phase, completed in September 2023, involved constructing a single-lane roundabout designed to improve the flow of traffic at the intersection. The project also included comprehensive reconstruction of the existing intersection, installation of advanced lighting, a storm sewer drainage system to effectively manage runoff, and grading to accommodate future sidewalks and crossings.

Even with the primary construction phase concluded, the project will continue this year with the installation of permanent lighting and landscaping. Marino Corporation, based in Skippack, Montgomery County, is the general contractor for this $1.5 million endeavor, financed entirely through federal funds.

Motorists and residents in the area are encouraged to stay informed about ongoing construction updates by visiting the MyChesCo Traffic Center for real-time information and travel advisories.
