Expect Delays: Geological Survey Triggers Lane Closures on Route 29 in East Whiteland Township

Traffic Restrictions

EAST WHITELAND TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has initiated a geological survey on Route 29 (Morehall Road) in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, which is expected to cause traffic disruptions over the next week. The survey, which began yesterday, will lead to periodic lane closures and inevitable backups.

From now through Friday, February 23, motorists can expect intermittent lane closures on Route 29 between Great Valley Parkway and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange. These closures are scheduled to take place on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Such closures are necessary to ensure the safety of the workers conducting the survey and the public. However, they will inevitably result in traffic delays. Drivers who use this route for their daily commute or other regular travel are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
