LOWER POTTSGROVE, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that reconstruction work will take place next week on U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, and North Coventry Township, Chester County, as part of a significant roadway improvement project.
The work schedule includes the following closures:
- Westbound U.S. 422: A single lane will be closed between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Route 100 interchanges from Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 13, between 6:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
- Eastbound U.S. 422: A single lane will be closed between the Route 100 and Sanatoga interchanges from Monday, June 9, through Thursday, June 12, daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM the following morning.
Commuters traveling through these areas should expect delays and are advised to allow for additional travel time. PennDOT has emphasized that all schedules are weather dependent and subject to change if necessary.
These closures are part of an $83.6 million initiative to reconstruct and enhance approximately 2.1 miles of U.S. 422. The project, which aims to replace multiple bridges and improve the roadway between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, is being implemented to improve safety and traffic flow on this critical stretch of the expressway.
Motorists are encouraged to remain vigilant while driving through work zones to ensure worker and driver safety.
